Fw 190 D-9 website!
This Focke Wulf Fw 190D-9 is currently under restoration to flying condition. This aircraft flew with II./JG 26 and was shot down April 25, 1945. Pilot Lt. Erich Asmus KIA in battle with five Tempests of 33 Squadron on an armed reconnaissance flight. The combat took place 15 km North of Uelzen. The aircraft crashed near Natendorf, 15 km North-Northwest of Uelzen. The wreck was initially recovered in 1989.
